Crime News: 15 month sentence for importation of 23kg of cannabis
Client given 15 months' sentence for importation of 23kg of cannabis
Breaches not proven by probation service against Samir’s client
Samir’s client was charged with two breaches of probation, as part of his post sentence supervision, related to non-attendance. Despite the probation maintaining that communication had been given of the appointments, and attempts had been made to contact him via telephone, Samir advised his client to plead Not Guilty to the charges.
The client explained how he had been made homeless and had no access to a phone, which Samir put before the judge at Willesden Magistrates Court along with pointing out the confusing nature of the breach report.
The judge concluded that Samir’s client would be given the benefit of doubt and none of the breaches were proven. The court direct the client to be released.
