Samir successfully recovers £63,000 seized by the NCA for client
Samir Pasha’s client was charged with murder and arson in relation to a shooting that occurred in 2020 in Telford.
Samir’s client was accused with three others of planning the murder of the deceased and then burning the vehicle the shooters used later that day after the murder.
The prosecution relied heavily on call data and cell site evidence to demonstrate the planning and movements of all 4 defendants.
The trial was heard at the super court in Loughborough sitting as Leicester Crown Court, following an initial trial at Stafford Crown Court last year where the jury was discharged.
Samir was led by Laurie-Anne Power KC of 25 Bedford Row throughout.
Following the conclusion of the prosecution case, a submission of no case to answer was made to the judge regarding the lack of evidence on the murder charge. This was accepted by the judge who formally acquitted our client of Murder.
After a 7 week trial and almost 2 weeks of jury deliberations, the jury acquitted our client of Arson.
This case spanned over 2 trials and thousands of pages of complex call and cell site data.
