Crime News: National press reported on a case currently represented by Samir Pasha
This week, the national press reported on a case currently represented by Samir Pasha
Samir Pasha represented an international client at Manchester Magistrates Court today who has an upcoming trial for drink driving in 2026.
The prosecution made an application for special measures, specifically screens, for the civilian witness in the case, fearing reprisals.
Samir had already served written representations opposing the special measures application, drawing the Court’s attention to the lack of substance behind the witness’ apparent fear, notwithstanding that the witness knows where the client resides but not vice versa.
Furthermore, Samir pointed out that there was no history of violence or contact between the two parties, and that the case was a driving matter not one concerning domestic abuse or violence.
The judge agreed with Samir and refused to grant screens.
