Crime News: Samir Pasha secures suspended sentence for client found with 16,500 cigarettes at airport

Samir’s client was charged with Fraudulent Evasion of Duty after being found with 16,500 cigarettes in his luggage at Heathrow Airport last year. His client pleaded guilty at Thames Magistrates Court and after strong mitigation submissions, Samir’s client was given a 6-month prison sentence which was suspended immediately.

The investigation involved HMRC and UK Border Force investigators and the total tax liability valued at over £10,000.
