Samir Pasha‘s client was charged with Handling Stolen Goods, namely, a number of designer jackets taken from one of the studios of the artist Damien Hirst on 30 June 2025.
The allegations stemmed from a burglary attributed to the client’s son with the items recovered from the client’s property being initially valued in the region of £400,000.
Samir put forward a basis of plea that the client had no knowledge of the burglary and was sleeping when the burglary took place, and made repeated submissions on the true value of the items being no more than £100 per jacket, as confirmed by the lead designer’s witness statements.
Today in Kingston Crown Court, the sentencing judge had taken into account the lengthy remand time already spent by the client and with the final value of the goods recovered being a total of £500 handed a conditional discharge to the client.
This case attracted media attention and was reported on a number of outlets.
