Crime News: Client secures suspended sentence in PWITS Class A case

Samir Pasha’s client was charged with Possession with Intention to Supply Class A- Cocaine, after over 20 wraps of cocaine and cash were found on him and in the car he was driving.

The client pleaded guilty at the first opportunity; however, he was still falling within a Significant Role category which has a starting point of 4 years’ 6 months custody.

Samir made robust oral submissions pointing to strong prospects of rehabilitation, lack of evidence to indicate Significant Role factors being met and provided personal context to the client’s life and reason for offending.

The judge at St Albans Crown Court considered all the submissions and gave a 2 years’ custodial sentence suspended for two years with one requirement of 250 hours of Unpaid Work.
