Experience

Sharmeen has gained a very wide experience in civil litigation, family Law, property litigation and employment law during her pupillage at a direct access chambers called Access Lawyers. During her pupillage she has conducted plenty of research, drafted skeleton arguments as well as statements of cases including witness statements and defences.

She has dealt with clients on a direct access basis on behalf of Chambers. Sharmeen has able to take instructions herself and understand the needs of the clients.

She has attended family law hearings involving divorce proceedings and childcare orders, she has been able to articulate childcare applications on behalf of the clients. She has also worked on a breach of contract claims involving misrepresentation and undue influence.

During her second six she has conducted independently 3-day employment tribunal hearing as well as a 3-day fact finding hearing relating to child custody and domestic violence including serious allegations of
Islamic radicalisation against her client.

However, her interest does lie in criminal law, and she wishes to expand her expertise to crime also. Recently, she has taken on various criminal matters in the magistrate’s court including representing clients in their first appearances on charges of assault, anti-social behaviour, robbery offences, driving disqualification matters and Breach of school attendance orders.
