Crime News: 15 month sentence for importation of 23kg of cannabis

Samir Pasha represented a client at Isleworth Crown Court who was charged with Importation of Class B – Cannabis.

The case related to the client being arrested at Heathrow Airport in June 2025 after arriving from Thailand.

He was stopped by Border Force agents, who upon searching his luggage discovered 26 packages of cannabis, weighing almost 23kg.

The client, previously of good character, had given significant statements that confirmed his role in organised crime group.

After reviewing evidence, Samir gave robust advice to his client who understood his position clearly. Strong mitigation submissions were made on behalf of the client and the judge sentenced him on the same day to 15 months’ imprisonment taking into consideration the seriousness of the offence.
