The UK’s Most Common Driving Offences Revealed!

Being a responsible driver is essential if you’re not to put yourself and others at risk on the roads, but it seems that there are many out there not following the Highway Code and adopting all sorts of bad driving habits.

New research from True Solicitors, reported on by the Stoke Sentinel, has just revealed the most common driving offences for UK motorists, based on analysis of government data - with speeding coming at the top of the list.

Miscellaneous offences such as neglecting road regulations and failing to supply information to identify the driver came second in the rundown, followed by licence, insurance and record-keeping offences, dangerous, careless or drunk driving, vehicle test and condition offences, theft of a motor vehicle and accident offences.

According to the study, the number of speeding offences has climbed by an average of five per cent annually to reach over 15 million in 2021. In addition, licence, insurance and record-keeping offences rose by six per cent between 2014 and 2018.
